Though there are 12 national languages in South Africa, it is necessary to identify one language among them that is common to all for use in instruction, assessment, and administration at the seminary. English, being a common, international, and formal language, is the language of instruction, assessment, and administration at the seminary. All forms of assessment; both formative and summative, both oral and written, shall be done in English, except in the Biblical Hebrew, Biblical Greek Grammar and Hebrew and Greek Exegesis courses. All applicants must demonstrate oral and written competence in English and have attained a minimum 40% in the English subject in their National Senior Certificate (NSC) qualification to enrol into the Diploma programme, and 50% into the Bachelor programme.

Christ Seminary has instilled
values in us students: Faithfulness and time management. It also teaches expository preaching as a method of preaching the Bible. It involves reading the passage to understand what it is talking about and its meaning, then explaining it to the audience, helping them to apply the Scripture to their lives. Recently, I preached 1 Timothy 1:12-17. Using the tools for exegesis and interpretation helped me to deliver faithfully, not what I think, but what the Bible says. In my future ministry in Madagascar, I wish to apply the preaching that I learned in an expositional way. Then, God willing, I will teach this method to the men called to preach the Holy Scripture.
The 3 years that I’ve spent at Christ Seminary have been challenging and yet rewarding at the same time. I thought I had a high view of Scripture, but when I got to Christ Seminary I realized that my view of Scripture was never high enough. I have now come to appreciate the inerrancy, authority, sufficiency and inspiration of Scripture. My theology and worldview before coming to Christ Seminary was seriously challenged as each of the lecturers kept pointing me back to the Scriptures. They have stirred up in me a deeper love and appreciation for God’s word as the only source of all truth.
