Since 1997, Christ Seminary in Polokwane has been training pastors and leaders from across Africa with a dual commitment to theological depth and pastoral formation. As a ministry of Christ Baptist Church, we believe in equipping God’s people through sound doctrine, faithful preaching, and lived discipleship.
Over the past nearly three decades, hundreds of graduates have gone into pastoral ministry, theological education, church planting, and mission work. Our influence grows as our alumni serve across the continent, embodying the Seminary’s commitment to faithful doctrine, humble service, and spiritual growth.
We offer the Diploma in Theology (360 credits) and the Bachelor of Theology (360 credits), both three‐year, full‐time, contact programmes designed to thoroughly prepare students for pastoral ministry, teaching, missions, and leadership.
These programmes have been approved by the Registrar in terms of Section 53(1)(b) of the Higher Education Act and Regulation 22(c) of the Regulation for the Registration of Private Higher Education Institutions, 2002. Both the Bachelor of Theology and Diploma in Theology are three-year programmes.
Teaching at Christ Seminary combines expository preaching, spiritual formation, mentoring, and practical ministry. Assessments include essays, exams, sermons, and ministry practice. Students are required to be active in their local churches during training.

The Bible: We believe that the Bible, composed of 66 books, is the fully inspired Word of God, written by appointed men of God, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, without error in the original manuscripts, and is our final authority in all matters of faith and conduct (2 Timothy 3:16,17; 2 Peter 1:20,21, Mark 13:31; John 8:31,32; John 20:31; Acts 20:32). The Triune God: We believe that there is one living and true God, eternally existing in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14). The Father’s purpose in the universe is to bring glory to Himself (Revelation 4:11) through His creation, redemption, and daily provisions in Christ (Psalm 19:1; Ephesians 1:3-14; Philippians 4:19).
